Safety Management System

R44 Raven II — Preflight & Close-Out

Two separate steps, filed independently. Before the flight: complete the preflight, make the airworthiness call, and file the Preflight Check. After you land: come back (a fresh page is fine — just re-enter name, date, Hobbs), complete the shutdown items, and file the Post-Flight Close-out. Each is logged as its own event to the CFI record, so you never hold this page open during the flight. Engine start, run-up, and pre-takeoff are flown from the checklist in the aircraft. For N668SA.

⚠ Airworthiness determination — before engine start

Required. Based on the completed preflight, make the determination before starting the engine. Engine start, run-up, and pre-takeoff are then flown from the checklist in the aircraft.

2 · Post-Landing — Shutdown & Close-Out

⚠ This will be flagged to a managing partner — call (518) 634-6375 or email info@flyheliadk.com if it affects airworthiness.

Quick-reference only — not a substitute for the checklist. Operate N668SA per the current Robinson R44 II POH, Section 4; verify every item against the POH. Completing this files the session (Hobbs, airworthiness, fluids, concerns, and flight notes) to the student's training record behind the secure portal; concerns and fluid additions are flagged for a managing partner.
